                                                                        PLAYGROUPS

What puppy or dog doesn't like to play!  Socialization is a critical part of every dog's development and must be maintained throughout your dog/s life.

The dog park isn't for every dog. So we created Play Group Night!

Socialization is 3 things. Dog to Human. Dog to Dog. Dog to Environment. A well socialized dog can handle both human and dog related situations. We have multiple trainers in the playgroup to help you and your dog have a great experience. They and you will have a great time while learning!

Playgroups are a great way for your puppy or dog to:

  • learn to read the body language of other dogs and people (prevents fear or aggression)
  • learn to read dog to dog language (I am not here to fight with you. I am here to play with you.)
  • learn to respect other dogs and people (not to snap at either)
  • learn to share toys, treats and people (dogs who guard)
  • continue to reinforce appropriate obedience: sitting for treats or petting, coming with distractions, etc
  • have fun playing with other dogs and people that runs off energy: a tired dog is a well behaved dog!

Our playgroups meet on  Friday nights. They are $10 per session, or buy a punch card and get 6 sessions for $50!

  • Puppy Playgroup is from 6:00-7:00 pm. It is for puppies 8 weeks to 10 months (small breed adults may fit very well here also). Puppies play and socialize off leash. We make learning fun using games to reinforce come, sit, bite inhibition, socialization skills with puppies and people, and overall good manners!

  • Adult Playgroup is from 7:15 -8:15 pm Friday nights. It is for dogs 10 months and older who need (or want) to work on socialization skills with dogs and people. The dogs play and socialize off leash. The playgroup style sessions also reinforce appropriate behaviors.
  • Can't make Friday night with your puppy? We have puppy playgroup on Wednesday night also. 6:00-7:00 pm

Puppies/dogs will be evaluated the first time they attend a session to ensure they receive the best experience possible. Dogs who struggle in this environment are not turned away, as we will work with you to begin the process to help your dog learn to function in this environment.

The age suggestions and prerequisites for all sessions may vary due to the size and maturity of your dog or puppy. If you are unsure or have concerns, we will be happy to help you determine the appropriate class!
